What are some problems you see with education in either the US or your country?

I've noticed how egotistical some teachers are. It really hurts the mood of the classroom and just makes people skip class.

The further south you go in the states, the worse things get.....

Oh yes, I'm very sure of it. I live far too close to the Rockies to be able to say anything about the southern regions, but I hear some very weird stories.

1) Emphasis on rote learning
2) Studying for the exams culture instead of studying to learn
3) Really bad student-teacher ratio
4) Underfunded schools
5) Very authorization style of running schools which produces people with stunted social skills and stick obedience to teachers.
6) Some unqualified and idiot teachers who don't know what they're talking about.
7) Over emphasis on Math and science and not enough on civics, life skills or being a good citizen.
8) Teacher absenteeism in rural and government schools.
9) A culture of studying hard to get into the best college according to the marks you get in nationwide exams as it determines your future prospects.
10) Sports and other extracurriculars are pretty ignored as serious options to excel in.
11) History subject is basically state propaganda.
12) Sex segregated classrooms being quite common.
13) Lack of practical education
14) Girls are sometimes not even sent to school in rural areas.
15) Minor things like corruption and scams in education institutes.

Depends on the state, most of them are also known for being poor. I moved around in the south, and didn’t really see anything unusual in the schools, and wasn’t as Jesusy as people like to act.

Honestly, I noticed a lot of the articles were of private schools, and are passed off like it’s the entire state school system.

+1 to that also yeah the system is terrible too much hard work it terms like whatever you learn in school is very less then work. they don't teach you budgeting or how save money also job searching is going to be tough honestly stuff like that in school. Also everyone should work in a team as in school its never taught how too and then comes work no one works well with each other and that is a essential Skill to have all of this is based on my experience with the education system in my country and probably others too also most the work is Knowledge based where is should be simulation or labs that work is very different then school.
