It has been revealed the PS Vita's memory cards won't be cheap. The Vita has limited internal memory, forcing gamers to rely on memory cards to store their data. The cheapest Sony branded memory card will set you back nearly $30.
In a press release Sony detailed four different memory cards. They will be released in Japan when the Vita launches this December. The press release details prices in Yen, so the American currency listing is an approximation.
4GB = 2,200yen ($29)
8GB = 3,200yen ($42)
16GB = 5,500yen ($72)
32GB = 9,500yen ($124)
Once the Vita has been released you can bet third-party companies will make their own Vita-compatible memory cards for much cheaper. Hopefully, by the time the PS Vita is released state-side there will be plenty of less expensive options.

thank god I'm working, no way could I afford this otherwise.
