The PlayStation 3 version of Final Fantasy XIV, the long-running RPG series second MMO outing, has been delayed as the PC trial period is extended.
"We deeply regret that the game has yet to achieve the level of enjoyability that Final Fantasy fans have come to expect from the franchise," said Square President and CEO Yoichi Wada as he made several frank admissions on Final Fantasy XIV's official site.
Final Fantasy XIV launched on the PC earlier this year to mediocre reviews, with performance and interface issues blighting the game.
Wada announced that the Final Fantasy XIV team is being restructured as Square looks to renew the game, which in turn will affect the PlayStation 3 release.
"It is not our wish to release a simple conversion of the Windows version in its current state, but rather an update that includes all the improvements we have planned," said Wada, "For that reason, we have made the difficult decision to delay the release of the PlayStation 3 version beyond the originally announced date of March 2011."

I would be mad about this, but luckily this is a MMO and I could care less.
