The Feed loves the newish feature on Amazon that ranks their items and tracks which are going up and which ones are headed to the terlet. It seems that, for recent sales, the Playstation 3 80GB Motorstorm Pack is up a whopping 1050%. That’s over ten times!!! Now before this sparks up the ol’ flaming console war fires, let’s just take a quick trip back into grade school arithmetic.
If Amazon sold 20,000 PS3s yesterday and 210,000 PS3s today, that would be a 1050% increase. That’s impressive. But, if Amazon sold 2 PS3s yesterday and 21 today, that would also be a 1050% increase. Not impressive.
Our guess is that it’s somewhere in between but Amazon doesn’t release the exact numbers and the percentages change often, so while you can take comfort/pain in an increase in PS3 sales through Amazon, we wouldn’t recommend selling the old baseball cards to buy up Sony stock just yet.
