Yesterday it was announced that the Xbox one can support up to 8 controllers, today it was announced that the PS4 can only support 4 controllers.

The PS3 can support 7 controllers, though bit of a step back it's not really a bad thing.

Maybe Sony did this to save money by making a console which only supports 4 controllers by not including the hardware, or software needed to support 8 controllers.

Sony probably eventually support 8 controllers if gamers demand it.

Bomberman, Super Smash Bros, Top down racers, horse racing games where horses all run in a straight line, Sim City, The Sims, board games, fighting games like Mortal Kombat, and sports games like football games where you see the whole field.

Well, I don't thinks that's a bad thing. I know the Xbox One supports 8 controllers, but I kinda wonder what game would make full use of this.
Yeah, controllers aren't really a big deal. It's rare for more than four controllers to be necessary.

What about first person shooter games?
Was it possible with the PS3 to use 7 displays (each person gets their own TV screen) to play local multiplayer?

Depending on the answer, I might be okay with this, >_>

black ops 2 only supported 4 controllers. And really four split screen play leaves you some tiny images to look at, no way could it be split among 7 blocks.

If you sit closer to the TV, or have a bigger TV, 8 player split screen could be playable. I think for certain games like racing, puzzle like tetris, and  flight simulators games playing split screen is easier since they are not shooter based games where you shoot tiny things.

Sony's head mounted TV glasees could also make 8 player gaming more comfortable.

Were talking 60-70 inch tvs frog and not many lucky bastard gamers have those.

Plus my brother says bigger screens gives shooters bad reaction or something like that in aiming the gun and turning.
A projector is a cheaper way to display bigger sized video  than a TV which is possibly one of the reasons that Movie theaters and schools use projectors to display movies and video instead of a giant TV or computer monitor.

There videos on YouTube which teach people how to make projectors from old LCD PC monitors, and a overhead projector with a back light for projecting text and pictures on a screen.

You can also get a HDMI projector from eBay, and Amazon for around $200 and up.

There is probably a way to make the screen smaller when not in 8 player mode like how most monitors these days have buttons to make the vertical and horizontal size smaller, or bigger by pressing on the monitor size buttons.
