Here in the IGN offices, a few of the editors are lucky enough to be in the PlayStation Home Beta. Yesterday, they logged into their accounts to find that the program had been updated to version 1.00.17, which brought a slew of new content. However, sworn to strict NDAs, no one wrote about the features.

Yes, a few PlayStation-branded sites are letting the general public get a look at just what this Home update is bringing to the table, which according to those sites, is a lot. For starters, the PlayStation Home icon has been moved from the Game tab on the XMB to the PlayStation Network tab. Next, the virtual PSP has been dropped in favor of a virtual Menu Pad. However, the biggest addition appears to be that of clubs. Home users can now create and join clubs that will feature group clubhouses. Each player can be in five clubs, and each club can have a maximum of 32 members. For now, in the beta, the clubs are free, but they'll actually cost money in the final product.
