Sony announced yesterday that the number of PlayStation Network accounts for the Japanese market has topped the one million mark.
Acccording to numbers handed out by the firm, Sony and its third party publishers have delivered over 1,500 pieces of content since the service's November 2006 launch. This has resulted in 17 million total downloads, with 400,000 unique users accessing the shop every month.
In commemoration, Sony will be holding a campaign that goes by the incredibly long name of "PlayStation Network Accounts Topped One Million! Appreciation Plan 1000 yen X 1000 People Present Campaign." From today until June 9, users of the Japanese shop can download a post card from the shop to get themselves entered into a raffle to win one of 1,000 thousand yen point cards good for purchasing product from the store.
