Sony has detailed the UK, EU & AU pricing plan for PlayStation Plus, the premium, paid-for PlayStation Network service, and given exhaustive details of what the package contains.
A year's subscription costs 39.99 GBP (49.99 EU/69.95 AUD) and a ninety day sign up costs 11.99 GBP (14.99 EUR/20.95 AUD).
PlayStation Plus doesn't replace the existing PlayStation Network service, instead offering premium content, exclusive items, discounts and demos.
The first month (running from June 29 to August 3) offers up full versions of WipEout HD, PSOne classic Destruction Derby, Minis Fieldrunners and Age of Zombies and as a special introductory sweetener a copy of LittleBigPlanet. The games are available to play for as long as members stay signed up to the PlayStation Plus service, though LittleBigPlanet is exempt from this caveat.
Shatter and Savage Moon are offered as full game trials, whereby players can play the game for a set period of time before being given the option to buy it. Elsewhere are discounts for LittleBigPlanet costume packs and premium content for KillZone 2, while two avatar and theme will be included each month.
The following month – running from August 4 to September 1 – offers PSN game Zen Pinball, minis Blast-Off and Alien Zombie Death alongside PSone game Medievil, while containing premium content for Motorstorm Pacific Rift amongst other treats.
Sony also clarified that cross-game chat would not be coming with PlayStation Plus.
