I'm getting one soon. It can be from the PS Store, too, so feel free to recommend some PSOne games.

Also, no shooters. You should have figured out that I hate those by now.

Pac-man Championship Edition DX (outscored Black Ops on IGN. Hell yea)
Crash 1, 2, 3, Team Racing (Duh)
LittleBigPlanet 1 and 2

^Well, you know how to annoy me. That's cool. But seriously, if you don't have any other games to recommend than shooters, then the PS3 is a pretty pathetic system.

EXCLUSIVE
Uncharted (1+2)
Katamari Forever
The ICO collection (whenever the hell it comes out)
Metal Gear Solid 4 (only get it if you've played all of the other ones)
Demon's Souls (try it before buying)
Killzone 2 or 3 (If you like BROWN N BLOOM GENERIC SHOOTAN')
3D Dot Game Heros (Its basically the first legend of zelda)
LittleBIGplanet 2 (trust me, you dont want to get the first. I have both and the second one is essentially first but better to say the least)
Heavy Rain (Only if you want to get into something serious)
The Ratchet and Clank games
The Last Guardian (its not out yet, but its definitely something to be looking forward to)
Portal 2 (I know its not an exclusive per say but the game comes with a downloadable copy of the game for the PC and its going to have free updates through steamcloud or something like that. The Xbox version will be missing both of these)

3RD PARTY
Marvel Vs Capcom 3 (If you like fightan games)
Dead Space (Its not that scary, unless you're some kind of manchild)
Dead Space 2 (If you liked the first)
Batman Arkham Asylum (Because THE GODDAMN BATMAN is in it)
Fallout New Vegas/3 (New Vegas is better story and writing/voice acting wise but has more bugs on the ps3, 3 has an awesome start but a pretty shallow plot and I personally liked the environment in this than in NV)
Mass Effect 2 (aka WAIFU SIMULATOR 2)
Bioshock 1+2 (The first is one of my favorite games of all time, it should be dirt cheep.

Well, you can try the very first three Spyro the Dragon games, depending on where you live... And if you like Spyro. The first three made are the best though. All platforming, none of that 'combat' stuff and none of that 'Legend of Spyro' stuff.
 
3D Dot Game Heroes(it's inspired by Zelda, Final Fantasy, Dragon Quest, and many other older adventure games) and Demon's Souls are must buys for any PS3 owner.(both made by the same company) Uncharted is a fun adventure(but is a 3rd person shooter). Oblivion is excellent if you've never played that on any other console. The God of War series is superb, unless you dislike games with gore. Bionic Command ReArmed 1 and 2 are outstanding(remakes and sequels to the original NES game). Dead Space 1 and 2 are great horror games.

There's many more that I have that I can't think of a the moment.
 
I only own a few games for the PS3. But I'd personally recommend Fallout 3 and New Vegas (RPG/FPS, so I'm not sure if you'd be into them) and the Assassin's Creed games.

Now that's helpful. Thanks; I'll definitely be getting a lot of the games on that list... all that I can afford, that is. Oh, and I was already going to get the Crash games. The original trilogy is an essential for me.

Assassin's Creed looked cool.
