Following the close of the Tokyo Game Show on the 12th, organizer CESA has announced final visitor figures for the event. A total of 194,288 visitors attended the show this year, breaking 2007's historical record of 193,040.
The record was broken despite a drop in visitors on the first two business-only days of the show. Thursday saw 27,305 visitors, down from last year's 29,783. On Friday, that went down to 24,178 visitors, down from 32,390.
The public days were both well above last year's totals. Friday saw 71,639 visitors, up from last year's 64,795. On Sunday, the figure stayed about level at 71,166, up from last year's 66,072.
