Remakes getting more popularity

This is not related to anime but rather movies from different languages.

I have observed that some remakes get even more popular than the original movies....I wonder why...

Some cases, it’s possible that the remake is better than the original. Other times there could be a large gap in time between different versions where the younger demographics either only knows or prefers the remake. Then there’s the few times the original was kind of obscure, and the remake is more famous.

I learned Disney is doing a lot of remakes just to keep a hold of the copyright on them.

Anyway, whether I prefer the original or the remake will depend after I've watched both.

There are social networking sites like Instagram, Twitter, YouTube, and Facebook which can be a great way to promote re-makes of movies to billions of users world wide.

When the original movie came out, people mainly find out about new movies and remakes from TV commercials, magazines, and newspapers.
