Which game or storyline are they adapting? I don't recognise anything from any of the games in this trailer.

Actually, they aren't adapting any specific game storyline. It's an original story set during the Raccoon City outbreak from RE2, but following new characters we've never met. The director didn't want to just redo Leon or Claire's story, so think of it as a side tale running parallel to the chaos we already know. That's why nothing in the trailer feels like a direct adaptation.
