Resident Evil 5's co-op play option has been known since E3, but did you know that the co-op can be played offline? Capcom revealed just that today at a stage event for the game during the first day of the Tokyo Game Show.

Capcom refers to the offline co-op play as, appropriately-enough, "Offline Co-op Mode." This mode delivers the same co-op experience as offered by the online co-op mode, only with two local players controlling the action in split screen.

Outside of the stage event, Capcom made available the latest build of the game for advance play. See our hands-on impressions story for all the details.
