Winter is looking crowded for JRPG fans who don't mind importing from Japan. December 17 sees Final Fantasy XIII on PS3. January 9 sees Kingdom Hearts Birth By Sleep on PSP. Star Ocean 4 International is due for PS3 on February 4, but it will be preceded by something that has the potential to be even bigger.
Sega Japan announced today a final Japanese release date for End of Eternity. The action-heavy RPG, which is set to be released internationally as Resonance of Fate, will hit Japan on January 28, priced at 7,980 yen. Yes, that's a little over $80, but game prices thankfully do not convert one-to-one across territories.
Unlike Final Fantasy XIII, which is multiplatform only in Western markets, Resonance of Fate is multiplatform in Japan as well. We imagine it will do good on the 360, whose owners haven't had a major RPG since Magnacarta 2. But PS3 could be a bit trickier, considering it comes between FFXIII and Star Ocean 4.
What's all the more interesting is that Resonance of Fate is actually developed by Star Ocean 4 developed tri-Ace.
