Myself, I love better retro games than modern. Why? Because there's just some nostalgia about retro games that I miss in modern ones. What about you? Are you more of a retro or modern gamer for you personally?
I would go beyond and say games I grew up with or in the era of what I could play as a kid or teen. Ports and reverse compatibility are included. So really I'm thinking of 3DS and Wii era stuff. The Switch I feel like is a good system too but most of the stuff I play on there is a variation of what I've played in the past.
Well, some of the retro games will bring back some of my childhood, in a sense. I have a lot of childhood memories wrapped up in certain games. For example, the first Mario Kart game for the Super NES......I remember playing that for hours with my brothers. I had lots of fun playing that.
I remember in the early days when we were waiting for the installation progress to hit 100%! But most of the time it got interrupted by a power cut or a damaged CD.
I prefer retro style games like older Final Fantasy games for the Gameboy, and Mario games for Gameboy Advance because they look nice, the music was catchy, and the gameplay were fun.
The single player experience in older games are enjoyable when I played them.
