Harry Potter actor Michael Gambon, known for his remarkable performances in film and on stage, has sadly passed away after a long and illustrious career. The actor is known for playing several extraordinary characters over the years and became a household name after playing Albus Dumbledore in the Harry Potter film series.

Per BBC, Gambon's family has confirmed that the actor died peacefully in his sleep with his family by his side. "We are devastated to announce the loss of Sir Michael Gambon," reads a statement by Gambon's family. "Beloved husband and father, Michael died peacefully in hospital with his wife Anne and son Fergus at his bedside."
 
My hubby came home from work that day and asked me if I heard of his passing. He wasn't surprised I already knew.

Professor Dumbledore. He's a great actor. He's aged well at 83 years old before his death. I'm going to miss him so much.
 
We only watched the first movies of Harry Potter but I remember him in other shows as well. He played in the 2010 Christmas Special for Doctor Who. An interesting bit of trivia per: Doctor Who Wiki
"In the mid 1990s, he was one of many names put forward for the part of the Eighth Doctor."

In the movies, Richard Harris played the part of Dumbledore for the first two movies. But Michael Gambon took over the role from the third movie till the end of the series because Richard Harris had passed after the second movie. So both actors that played Dumbledore have died.

That's very interesting! I didn't realize the connection between both actors' death.
What a shame! It was such a good role & both played it wonderfully.
 
I miss him so much. Gone are Hagrid, Snape and now both Dumbledore's.

We've still got younger Dumbledore aka Jude Law but I am not so much a fan of his as I was Gambon.

Gambon was also amazing in the Doctor Who episode where he played a version of Scrooge in one of their Christmas episodes.
