RPG Maker games use to have a bad name to them back in the day, but over the years there's been several games that won indie game of the year and such that were actually made with RPG Maker. That being said, have you ever played a game by this program? Did you like it, or did it fail your expectations?

The only one of note I played was Corpse Party. Outside of that, I’ve messed around on it, and I did try some random fan games.

It’s a great software series, but it’s biggest pro is also its biggest con: anyone can make a game with it. All of the low effort games people were crapping out on the regular gave it a bad rep, but there’s a lot you can do with it.

Played some hentai rpgmaker games before lol there are A LOT of hentai rpgmaker games lol

I like playing with RPG Maker as an engine. If I want to make a simple 2D RPG I'd use it, otherwise I have more experience with Godot/Unity. But I just like to tinker, I'm not all that great at using any game engines lol

As far as games made with it, I haven't actually played through one entirely. I do have a few on my steam library though.

I'm not aware of any that I have played that was made with an RPG maker. I wanted to make my own but never really got into it. It's not really something that I want to jump into anymore either.

I remember a friend hooked me up with a copy of RPG Maker however, I never took the time to really dive in. I hadn't realized how involved it would be having to create a story line and all. It's been a long time I wouldn't mind giving it another go.

My first RPG-maker game was Ib (Eeb) and man it was such a masterpiece. Took me about 3-4 hours to finish it and was one of the best experiences I've had. It's also coming out on Steam sometime in 2022.

Then comes Mad Father. It's a horror-themed RPG-maker game and I hadn't thought a pixelated atmosphere could scare the sh*t out of me. I suggest everyone giving it a try at least once.
