Rumor: $600 for a Wii U?

A speculative local price for the Wii U is being listed on the Australian EB Games website.

The retailer has priced the Wii U at AUD $598.00. We've confirmed with EB Games this is an estimated price at this stage.

The RRP for the original Wii when it launched down under in 2006 was AUD $399.95.

some people in the IGN comments are trying to estimate the USA cost, which appears to be about $100 less. I really wouldn't pay no more than $400.

Expensive. I won't be buying this as well because for a few more hundred dollars, I can get a pretty good PC which can play many PC games.

Wow! That is one crazy price, definitely staying away until that drops if it is that price. Don't think they will do much selling if they do stick with that rumoured price.
