Kirsan Ilyumzhinov, the leader of the southern region of Kalmykia, recently claimed to have been abducted by aliens. The BBC reports that Ilyumzhinov told an interviewer on primetime television that the aliens had come to Earth to take samples and that he had been taken on board their spaceship.

Now, MP Andre Lebedev is inquiring about official policy when it comes to politicians being contacted by Aliens. The MP is asking the Russian president Dmitry Medvedev to investigate Ilyumzhinov's claims, claiming that if it happened, it's a historic event and should have been reported to the Kremlin.

According to the Beeb, millionaire Ilyumzhinov has a reputation for being a bit eccentric. As president of the World Chess Federation, he is said to have spent tens of millions of dollars turning the poor region of Kalmykia into a mecca for chess players. Ilyumzhinov is responsible for building an entire village, dubbed Chess City, to host international tournaments.

Tom's Guide

Very odd story, espiecally the part about "Chess City"

so is this article about aliens or chess?

but anyways that's creepy and how would he know what the aliens were doing?

I think this story is about a Member of Parliament in Russia who was the "president of the World Chess Federation" who got abducted by aliens.

I'm interested in what kind of samples did the aliens took.

I agree that a MP being abducted by Aliens is a "historic event".
