Somehow I can't help but feel that, sabo can't possibly be alive.

He was shot by a full fledged gun by a dragon.May be oda just want to bring sabo back or something. That's the only possible  explanation I can think of.

May be the shinnigami is on leave that day.

Ummm, who are you talking about exactly?

Its been known for a while that Sabo was still alive. Even if you didn't read the manga, there was a scene in the anime which hinted that Dragon saved him and took him to his crew for treatment.
For real?May I know the episode please? Somehow it seems like I missed that scene.

Had to look through my old episodes :p it was at the beginning of episode 504.
Hmm..now matter how I look at it,I can't really see anything that leads to sabo's safety.Well, sabo is alive and I guess ...I will have to accept it I guess.

Nothing that points to Sabo really. But it shows Dragon saved a person, and someone that he can carry easily. So it can only be a child, and the only child that was relevant at that time is Sabo.

Dragon is pretty powerful and he can lift anyone pretty easily, except for kuma :p

In the end, Sabo must have some big plot importance in the future.
Yeah. After all,he is filling in for ace.

xD true, but Dragon was carrying that person under his coat. An adult would have stood out in that scene.

But yeah, it was pretty hard to associate Sabo to that scene. Even I missed it at first.
I see.I get it(may be a little).

Point is, as much as it doesn't make sense for Sabo to survive this, its not just Oda feeling like bringing him back. He had it planned since back then.

So that short arc wasn't just to tell us more about Ace and Luffy's childhood and how they got close, but also to introduce Sabo as an important character.
