I was just looking around stuff and I found how much a videogame system unit sold for. I found the results fair enough (PS2 WON!):
(By the way, I only put in stuff from 5th Generation and up.)
Sony Systems:
PS3: Worldwide: 16.84 million (as of September 30, 2008)
PS2: Worldwide: 140 million (as of July 20, 2008)
PS1: Worldwide: 102 million (as of July 20, 2008)
PSP: Worldwide: 41 million (as of August 20, 2008)
Comments: They all did better than I thought. PS3 is falling a bit, but it'll come back. PS2 won. Ps1 I'm not surprised at.
Nintendo Systems:
Nintendo DS (Lite): Worldwide: 84.33 million, including DS Lite units (as of September 30, 2008)
Nintendo DSi: Japan-Only (at the moment): 1,062,416 (as of December 22, 2008)
Gamecube: Worldwide: 21.74 million (not specified)
Nintendo 64: Worldwide: 32.93 million (not specified)
Nintendo Wii: Worldwide: Worldwide: 34.55 million (as of September 30, 2008)
Comments: I expected the Wii to be over the PS2. The DSi did good for a new one. I'm disappointed in the Gamecube. The DS's them selves did good. Disappointed in the Nintendo 64.
Microsoft:
Xbox 360: Worldwide: 25 million (as of December 19, 2008)
Xbox: Worldwide: 24 million (as of May 10, 2006)
Comments: They did worse than I expected, but at least the 360 is still hanging on.
Sega:
Sega Dreamcast: Worldwide: 10.6 million (not specified)
Sega Saturn: Worldwide: 9.5 million (not specified)
Comments: I see why they don't make consoles anymore... Did horrible compared to others.
There were disappointments, but most of them did great... Well the ones I wanted to do great... heh heh heh...
