Samsung has announced a new set of DDR4 chips built on 20nm technology that should shatter existing storage capacities and allow for vastly more RAM per DIMM slot. Currently, server and desktop DIMMs both top out at 32GB, and that capacity commands a significant premium. A single 32GB DIMM from NewEgg can run $510, compared to just $309 for 4x8GB sticks. At lower densities, its typically cheaper to buy fewer sticks of RAM, but at the top of the market that trend reverses.

Wow, 128 GB of DDR4 RAM. The future of Gaming Desktop computers looks great. I bet 128 GB of RAM will be enough RAM to handle all future PC Games for over 10+ years or longer since very few games uses 8GB of RAM, or even 16GB of RAM when playing PC games at higher video settings.
