Samsung Galaxy Note 5 Unboxing & Impressions!

Yeah, the battery and microSD is going to be a deal breaker for a lot of people. Though I like to know how much internal storage this device has?

then it is a deal breaker for this phone. Both those amounts are pitiful.

I think 64GB is okay for users who are not smartphone gamers, or does not watch hours of videos.

But, if you plan to install a few higher quality mobile game ports like SquareEnix, Ubisoft, EA and Gameloft mobile games, and emulated games from the PlayStation 1, N64 on your phone, the 64GB of internal storage will be filled up pretty quickly.

for me its music, 64 GB would be gone within a year.

I'm not a fan of its design. The thin bezels make it look uncomfortable to hold, and... I dunno... It just looks outdated in comparison to other smartphones from this year...

Using a case would probably make it easier to hold. I agree the design looks kind of old, but most smartphones look pretty similar where it is thin, and like a piece of glass.

Like DS, lack of a microSD slot is a dealbreaker for me. I could deal with not having a removable battery. But the lack of SD I couldn't deal with. I mean transferring my music and videos over to a new phone would be a breeze with SD, just insert my SD card and away I go. (Since it's already preset to Android's required file structure and everything.)

Even if their reasoning is that their new memory is so much faster than SD... that doesn't really mean shit to me. I mean SSD is loads faster than a standard hard drive, but yet standard hard drives still have their uses too. (Namely raw storage space. An SSD beyond 500GB is basically $450 and up, for now, where you can get a 2-4TB standard hard drive for between $100-$200.) And really this would be no different. Having a fast internal cache of memory supplemented by a much larger and slower quantity is something many people already do.
And because the microSD is separate it shouldn't affect the internal memory's speed at all. So I really don't see any justification here for removing SD slots.

I hope people voice dissatisfaction with this lack of SD slot to the point Samsung reconsiders. I'd like to buy the Note 6 when it releases but I'm only going to consider that an option if it has an SD slot. If not then I'll look elsewhere. (I'm sure their competitors will provide options... I know Sony's Xperia Z4 has it. The Z4, released under the name Z3+, is their current latest and it has a microSD slot. And I'd imagine that their Z5 will have one too.)
