VEVAY, IN -A Vevay family is forced to stay in a hotel Tuesday night after they say their Samsung tablet exploded sparking a fire. It happened around 5:30 a.m. in an apartment building on Swiss Avenue.
"It literally went 'swoosh,' and climbed up the wall," said Amy Bell. The mother of three is still shaken up after the fire forced her family out of their home, and the tablet is believed to have been the cause.

It is scary that tablets and their battery can explode, or catch on fire like some laptops in the past which also exploded.
It's fortunate that the fire did not spread to all the other apartment rooms in the apartment building, and possibly to neighboring apartments, and buildings if there is heavy wind, and the fire blew to other buildings.
I think these electronic battery and device fires will be more common as more electronics like tablets and smartphones become older and the over charging safety protection fails because of old age. A lot of electronics, charger USB cables, and chargers are built poorly with cheaper low quality parts, or release too soon where they are not tested as well to make sure they don't explode and catch fire like the Samsung Galaxy Note 7 and other smartphones which randomly exploded while charging and not charging.
