Samsung has announced a range of mSATA solid state disk (SSD) drives, the 840 EVO series, which comes in a number of sizes including the world's first 1TB mSATA SSD drive with sequential read and write speeds of 540MBps and 520MBps.

Wow, this is one small 1TB SSD. It is also fast as well since 540Mbps is like reading a typical CD in 2 seconds or less.

I wonder if this soon mean there would also be more tablets, and smartphones with 1TB of SSD storage.
 
I think the price would be very high like other SSDs. My best guest is it would be in the  high hundreds like $800-900 to thousands of dollars.
 
A 1TB SSD is not worth it for everyday tasks like Office work, homework, or web browsing where a hard drive is good enough.

But, for a Pro PC Gamer in Major League Gaming, a 1 TB SSD is more worthy since losing a PC Game match in a first person shooter game like Battlefield 4 because of sudden slowness from a hard drive, or other drive related problem could cost him 1st place where the prize money could be in the tens of thousands of dollars, and he also lose sponsorships from computer parts companies, and Energy drinks where he can earn even more.
