finished watching another anime thanks to the newly revived toonami block on CN's adult swim block. And this time I watched a rather good anime which based on a era that japan would go from samurai to tech but this is a bit more sci-fi influenced.
The story starts out with a tiny rice village which like others is being terrorized by giant machines that come for their rice which is used in a very complex trading scheme by the ruling government. Over all the story is very good and introduces many likeable characters and even though I don't like how the anime ended with some dead and alive I highly recommend this anime.
Animation and artwork is good and the ost is average but I must say the ending song is very well done and fits the theme of the anime really well.
If you like feudal japan like stories with swords, machine and a really sneaky complex plot then I recommend this anime.
Description:
Samurai 7 tells the story of a village named Kanna. Every year during the harvest, a group of bandits come and steal away almost all of the rice that had been harvested that year. Not only that, the bandits are becoming more demanding, now taking women and children in addition to rice.
The elder of Kanna Village has decided that to protect the village they must hire samurai to fight against the bandits. However, the village has no money and thus must find samurai willing to protect the village for a payment of rice. Three members of the village leave to attempt to recruit samurai. They travel to the city and search for samurai willing to work, and after finding several samurai and having a few encounters with the local government, they return to Kanna village to prepare defenses against the bandits.

for those of you who watch the toonami block, Soul eater will be taking S7's place starting next week. Please support the block by buying the anime and watching it on toonami.
