Scared by a Book?

Although there is no shortage of horror stories - a la Stephen King or Clive Barker, how often do they actually scare you? Has a book ever made you feel afraid? What was it? What about it triggered that response?​

I loved reading the "Scary Stories to Tell in the Dark" books when I was kid. Those scared me back then......not enough that I had nightmares but enough to keep me entertained.

If you like horror, you should also try some things from Joe Hill and Darcy Coates.
