Seeking Advice From Other Pokemon Players

Hey all, I have a question that's driving me up the wall for a long time. I have every Legendary it's possible to get through a non-hack method, and I've gotten them all through said legit methods. They're scattered across my various versions, some in my original Pokemon game (Sapphire), others in Pearl/Platinum, and now the Arceus from the Dream World event in White. Recently a friend of mine started pestering me to transfer the three main Legendaries from gen 4 into White, so we could trade-tradeback so he could GTS trade for them (he never got any gen 4 game). This would mean severely hurting either my Pearl or my Platinum version. If I was to do something like that, I'd likely just transfer all my remaining good Pokemon and start the version over. However, now I'm thinking...I've kept all the Legendaries I've ever gotten in their original versions (except for Emerald where I got them all out before starting over for fun...the original file wasn't that good), and I'm starting to wonder what I should do. For reference, here's the spread of Legendaries:

Sapphire: All Legends from gen 3 (Excluding Deoxys, including Jirachi), Mew, Celebi, gen 2 dogs, Lugia from XD, gen 1 birds from XD, Mewtwo.)

Pearl/Platinum: All Legends from gen 4 (Including 2 Darkrai, excluding Arceus), Deoxys, Ho-oh.

White: All possible legit Legends from gen 5, Arceus, Mewtwo.

I may be forgetting something at the moment. I know gen 3 is obsolete, gen 4 is getting there...and yet I'm really struggling to decide if I should move them all irrevocably into White. Sapphire is still my best version by far...and the fact that should I do this, there's no going back, is scary for me. The battery is dead on Sapphire, with over 400 hours logged before the clock died (only thing the battery controls). I'm asking you all, should I trade them over, or should I keep them where they originated from?

P.S. No matter what you all say, I'll still do what feels right for me...I'm just asking for feedback that's impartial...my friend is not impartial since he wants what benefits him.

Trade them over. They won't get played with in other versions, so why not put them where you can use them? At least one of each so you can get a complete Pokedex.

Trade them and start over:yeahthat:

Trade them over. I made the mistake of keeping my Pokemon in Firered version. And when my cousins came over and literally trashed my room Firered was no more. *sniff* I lost my mewtwo from Firered.

Like you said. It's your call. Be honest with yourserlf, and think about this before you agree to your friends terms.

But the question is: how do you feel about this?
Do you feel that you should tranfer them over? or
Do you feel that you should keep them in the games that they originated from, because you worked hard in training those pokemon in said games?

I understand where you are coming from, although I don't have said "pestering friend", I however prefer to keep my legendaries in their respected games. So I went out and bought a secound Platinum and soulsilver for such an issue (and that I will be getting a second heartgold later.) But, please keep in mind that these second copies were preowned and are just for said legendary pokemon transfer to black and white (and possibly black2 and white2).

Let me know if this gave you any ideas or helped at all!

Well, I decided to compromise for the moment. I transferred my HeartGold and Platinum Pokemon into White. Pearl and Sapphire haven't been touched at the writing of this. This means Mew, Celebi, two of the dogs (I was lazy in HG), Deoxys, the eon birds, Manaphy, Phione, and the special event Darkrai are still in those versions. Not sure what my next step'll be.
