Not a bad selection but it's not like it's as special as it used to be, especially with better graphics nowadays this is for those who don't want to emulate and wear some modern nostalgia goggles.

I saw somewhere it also plays old physical media discs as well?
If it’s like what they did with the model 1, I’m going to press X to doubt. It’s also too small. It was a decorative accessory. It was basically like a joke accessory to show off how ridiculous the Genesis add-ons were.

So it came with the Sega CD, and the 32X. On top of that, it came with a decorative Sonic cartridge that plugs into the Sonic and Knuckles cartridge:

I like this mini console comes with many classic games, and the retro design of this console looks nice.

Take notes Nintendo. You can still release the 64DD or Virtual Boy if you wanted to. ;~;

Read from VGC:

Speaking to Famitsu, Sega’s classic hardware producer Yosuke Okunari said that he had considered producing mini versions of the classic consoles, but claimed that the cost of producing parts for either a Dreamcast or Saturn would be prohibitively expensive.

“Some of you may say ‘this isn’t a Sega Saturn Mini’ or ‘I wanted a Dreamcast mini’, it’s not that we didn’t think about that direction”, Okunari said of the new Mega Drive console.

“The development of new boards has been stagnant due to the Coronavirus and, of course, it would be a fairly expensive product in terms of cost.”

Maybe in the future it will become cheaper?
