At Sega's FES 2018 stream, the company announced a mini version of the Mega Drive will be released in Japan later this year. It will be powered by the latest AtGames technology with no other details, including an outside Japan release, was given at this time.

Hopefully, the Sega Mega Drive gets quickly released to other countries, and there is no shortage.

I read on a tech blog that Sega Genesis is still being made for South America according to Sega Genesis Back In Production In Brazil: Revived Console Supports Original Games And Controllers, Comes With 22 Games In SD Card
