DLC Street Fighter X Tekken characters are appearing in the game's multiplayer. Hackers gon' hack, I guess. The 12 extra characters are "DLC," but are already included on the game disc. A "legit" unlocking is expected at a later date this fall, complete with a "legit" price of $20. Some rascals seemingly could not wait.

On Capcom Unity's message boards, Christian Svensson, the Senior Vice President of strategic planning and business development at Capcom, confirmed it, addressing a gamer's question about playing Blanka by posting:

“Yes, we’re seeing news of this. Quite ballsy for folks to be taking hacked Xbox 360s on Live where they are detectable,”

Do not think for a minute that this will not be addressed. Svensson continued:

“In any event, we already have opened channels of communication with Microsoft on these issues Friday night. If you can capture screens or video of this in action (as some have already) we’re working on bans for boxes and accounts with Microsoft for haxxors.”

It's hard to imagine anyone being all that surprised that hackers have unlocked the "extra"characters on the disc. I mean, they're right there, after all. If the only thing keeping people from accessing content is a sense of honor and a little technical monkeying, of course a certain percentage of people are not going to be able to wait.

Svensson goes on to request that gamers who face purloined characters take a screenshot and help in the eventual banning of these users. My question: If you fought someone who played one of the DLC characters, would you "turn them in?"

which is why I say putting this stuff on the disc before hand is completely stupid!

They need the data on disc so that they can integrate the DLC. Same happened to Mass Effect 3 and it's day 1 DLC.
