A psychological horror game, Shadow of the Eternals is the spiritual successor to Eternal Darkness: Sanity’s Requiem, being developed by the original creators of the popular and critically acclaimed classic. Featuring an eclectic cast of heroes and villains, Shadow of the Eternals will span thousands of years of history. As it was previously announced, a second Kickstarter campaign has just been launched today to support Shadow of the Eternals, the game advertised as the spiritual sequel of Eternal Darkness. More modest this time, the goal is set at $ 750,000, in contrast to 1.35 million the first time. Other adjustments appear to have been made since the presentation of the game no longer mentions dividing the game into episodes. It is therefore not clear whether the funding is for the entire game or simply the first chapter of a great adventure.
What is certain is that the project of Shadow of the Eternals has found a voice in the person of David Hayter. The actor who is traditionally associated with Solid Snake in Metal Gear Solid, is known to have doubled Paul Becker, the hero of Shadow of the Eternals. Since David Hayter was already part of the Eternal Darkness adventure, his participation in the Shadow of the Eternals was only natural.
A Shadow of the Eternals Beta access (PC only) will also be offered to backers that pledged $100 and above, allowing players to try the game early and offer feedback.
