It looks fun but I wonder how it handles on the GBA.

Well, since this is for Switch, I doubt very well lol.
True, though would have loved a brand new modern game.
It's literally called Shantae Advance and it's already been announced to be put in GBA cartridges by Limited Run, so at least the images will be scaled down.

Shantae Advance: Risky Revolution looks like a fun retro side scrolling action game. I like that it has re-arrangeable stages and 4-player Battle Mode.
