Should I get the 3DS XL?

Well if you are going to buy a new 3DS I will surely recommend the XL. And if you are going to buy a XL model and the Pikachu edition wont interfere with your social life, the by all means.

I would highly recommend the XL. For me, the larger size makes it a lot more comfortable to hold for lengthy periods, and the games look fantastic on the larger screen. Apparently, they didn't up the resolution when they went up to the larger screen size though, so the games are technically the slightest bit 'fuzzy', but I honestly haven't noticed anything at all. All the games I've played on it have been crisp and clear!

The bigger question is, you say you borrow your sisters 3DS, and that you're not sure if you want to get one since there's other stuff you want too? Do you think you'll play it often enough to warrant having one of your own?

If you can swing the extra $30 for the XL I'd say go for it. I'd get the Pikachu version, its a real chick magnet

Yes I would play with it quite often actually... But money doesn't grow on trees and I don't know how I'm going to buy all this stuff I want. I want a 3DS XL, I have to buy a Christmas present for my girlfriend, I need a Lap top and a game capturing device(The El Gato), plus I will need to get Naruto Storm 3 in May and Pokemon B/W and B/W 2 as well. Argh, too much stuff I want and need!

Haha, chick magnet xD

I would definitely get the XL. I have one and it is a lot better than the original model. It also doesn't take on fingerprints like the original model.

^ THIS. The flat matte coloring of the XL looks a lot nicer in my opinion. The regular 3DS is really shiny and looks nasty because the fingerprints on it really stand out.

Thanks for your insight Kirby. Much appreciated.

Hmm alright thanks for the help.

I had the original DSi and was frustrated because my fave game on it was Civilization Revolution and the armies that shared the same spot were hard to distinguish. On the DSiXL, the game was perfect, so I was excited to get the 3DSXL. I had the original 3DS and now I use the XL exclusively. I really love it!

There is some good and bad about the 3DS XL. A positive would be, better battery life, better memory, and a big screen, that's all. Though you lose some accessories on the Nintendo 3DS XL, like the Circle Pad pro, MK7 Wheel (don't think anyone uses it) and some future products, and it can't really fit in your pocket... I'm getting one because I'd like to experience Netflix and some games on the XL at home only. I use my 3DS on the go and take it almost anywhere for street pass and coins. It all depends on your tastes of game style
