An interesting subject I heard on a podcast, do you think kids, once they reach a certain age, be allowed to change their name at least once?
Not sure about it, to be honest. Probably going to end up with a lot of edgy 13 year olds changing their name to something funny and then regretting it two years later
I’m siding with this. 18 year olds aren’t much smarter than 16 year olds, but you’re at the age where you can get a driver’s license and join the military, you should be able to legally change your name to whatever you want. You just can’t buy beer and cigarettes.Which is why I'm thinking till they are at least 18 or whatever adult age is.

Not as a minor, no. But once the child reaches the age of maturity which is 18 or 21 depending on which state you live in (within the United States), then there are court processes in place to allow individual to legally change his or her name.
In the United States, some states recognize the age of maturity at 21 vs 18. I don't know if state name is based at the individual state level or government level, but regardless, one should be able to change their legal name once the age requirement has been satisfied. At 18 you're legally an adult. I'm pretty sure you could do it then at 18. I don't know why they'd make you wait till 21.
