Should people buy XXX domains?

I read in my newspaper today that colleges, universities and other high good reputation places are buying XXX domains (which go for about 200 dollars) in order to make sure no porn version of their website appear.


Do you think people should buy XXX domains to stop dirty porn versions from appearing.


A good example would be someone buying gamingforce.xxx and making a game porn site and as I ad this place people could get the wrong idea.
 
Yes, but only if they are planning to use the domain name for its intended purpose, or make a website with it. I hate when people just buy domains, and make cheesy or useless web pages with them, so visitors will click on ads.

I think most people are smart enough to know website.com, and website.xxx are different websites.

yeah, but the not most people are the most stupid and popular people who can raise hell.

I tend to ignore people who are stupid enough to get fooled by the wrong domain extension.

Many people who buy domains with weird extensions like .co , .xxx, .biz are domain squatters who buy domains to put up ads, and spam forums, blogs, e-mails, and other sites, so people will click on their ads on their site, or buy their worthless stuff which is over priced.
