For the upcoming PlayStation 5 and new Xbox system, do you think they should come with a battery in them just in case there is power loss, you could still play your game or take time to find a stop point and save? Granted this would need to come with a plug port to plug a tv to power it as well.

Well, it doesn't matter.

But that would be good too if people experience too many power cuts in their area....so....it's better to have them I suppose.

I don't normally have that many power outages. But I would avoid playing video games if there is a thunderstorm brewing or in progress. So it wouldn't really affect me really one way or the other.

can be an issue in small spaces.

There are some Uninterrupted power supplies which are about the same size as power bars/surge protector bars. UPS are smaller than most TVs, and can be place behind a TV table, or next to the TV table,

I feel adding a battery for a game console is not a good idea because it will make the console more expensive, so fewer people can afford a console, or may end up borrowing more money to buy the console,

Like Froggy said, you can get one that’s barely bigger than a standard power strip, so space constraints aren’t much of an issue. It also doesn’t limit to just one console, so if you want to play a different one (or just want to watch TV), you don’t have to turn on a console just to power a TV.

I think battery in game consoles mostly make sense for handheld consoles like the Nintendo Switch with a screen and built-in gamepad ,speakers, and wi-fi.

Most TVs and external TV sound systems like a sound bar don't have a battery built-in, so you will need to use a UPS power supply to power your TV, and external speakers like a sound bar.

A standalone UPS power supply with a high capacity battery and many plugs can power your console, DVR/Tivo, modem, router, stereo, PC and phone charger at the same time depending on how much power the battery can hold, and how many plugs the UPS has.

usually the smaller the UPS, the weaker the battery life.

This is true, but those UPS with bigger batteries can be more expensive.

Many power outages I experience only last a few minutes to an hour, so smaller UPS may work if your TV and console does not use a lot of power.

Well I’m used to UPS being used to safely shut down equipment during a power outage, so if you get one that lasts long enough to save your game and safely turn off your console, so you really need a lot more?

it depends on how many devices needs to be connected to it.
