So what do you guys think? Should the consoles launch in 2020 or be delayed given the state of the world?

I think delaying the next gen console launch to 2021 can be a good idea if the Coronavirus outbreak is totally out of control, and there are a lot of lockdowns, riots and looting from criminals who are taking advantage of the Coronavirusoutbreak.

The Coronavirus outbreak is still very active in many countries, and some unlucky people may die or get seriously sick from the Coronavirys after waiting in line to buy a nextgen console. There will also be people who will get sick from covid after walking past a huge line of people wsiting at Gamestop where people want to buy a console and games.

There is no reason to delay them, to be honest. Games are ready. Consoles are most likely ready. And there are many people that are ready to buy them at launch. A delay to 2021 just doesn't seem likely.

Delaying the consoles would also mean delaying the games for them, so we might wait even longer to play newer games, which would kinda suck to be honest.

Sony is in a great position to release the PS5 this year. Although I do think Xbox wouldn't mind some more time. The console is probably ready but the lack of first-party games is going to be a huge problem for them.
