Since piracy is out of control right now, why don't they just released anime for free

Since piracy is out of control right now, why don't they just released anime for free with using ADS?
So, what do you feel about it? Or do you think they need to get the control back?

Piracy’s been a big deal in the industry for almost 2 decades, and not much has changed on the piracy front. It sounds like you just found out about it.

The reason why they don’t release it for free, and without ads, is that making anime isn’t a charity. It costs money to make.

The deal with piracy is that the people who are gonna pay for it, will pay for it, and a large chunk of the pirates were never gonna pay for it in the first place. So it’s not a lost sale.
 
Because there are people (like me) who do still buy anime. Can't lose those sales.
 
A lot of people who pirate anime may also buy anime when they see it on sale at a store like Amazon, eBay, Bestbuy, and other stores which sell anime.

There’s a decent amount of people that do that. I end up buying series I like, but it was annoying how I got shamed by so many people who pirate for committing the cardinal sin of buying something.
 
Like the others have mentioned before, even with people pirating anime, there are still many many people that pay for it and they make a lot more money from that compared to ads.
 
And when they try to sell it for money, other pirates will release that anime for free. And the cycle will continue on forever :laughing:
 
I wouldn't mind getting any actual DVD and other stuff but they are just too expensive after adding importing costs.
Not sure if I would want to purchase them just yet.
