Nintendo has announced Super Smash Bros. on 3DS enjoyed over 1 million sales in its opening Japanese weekend.
The figure, which combines both retail and download numbers for the brawler, paint a positive picture for the company ahead of the Wii U release of the title later this year. Nintendo also noted that 1 million physical copies of the game have been shipped to retail stores.
Not many new 3DS releases manage to pass this milestone in their first week in Japan. Notable other members of the club include Monster Hunter 3 and Pokemon X & Y.
