So... I decided to place an order for the Wii U on Amazon UK.

The price seems.... expensive, but then, it's only a placeholder. It's currently listed at £310.00

Now the thing that's really weird?

Delivery Estimate: Thursday 5 July 2012 - Monday 9 July 2012

OMG! IT COMES OUT IN LIKE FOUR DAYS!!! OMG OMG!

Yeah, obviously this is fake... and it'll probably not even go through. They might even 'cancel' the actual order. The good thing is, no money is transacted UNTIL the item is delivered, so at least I won't have wasted £315.50
hopefully
.

I have to admit, I'd laugh if they actually did deliver the console, just because Nintendo's reaction would be hilarious.

They'd accuse Amazon of witchcraft and/or time travel, for starters.
This isn't like breaking the release date of a game by a few days. It's months from release. Amazon won't have stock yet, and nor will they for several months to come. It's utterly impossible for them to deliver the console in July.

I did e-mail the seller, though.

Hi Sir,

Yes you are correct, the Wii U is due to be released on 30/11/12. Unfortunately amazon would not allow us to amend our delivery date, you would have recieved an email tomorrow morning which confirmed that.

Please note that should there be any specific order enquires, please email our customer services directly on our website which is thegamecenter.

BTW, the current status is: Processing for dispatch, which means:

We've started preparing your parcel for delivery and it should leave our facility in the next few hours to a few days. We'll send you an e-mail once your order has dispatched. The length of time your parcel spends in this stage doesn’t change your delivery date.

Now my question is... what parcel?
I just hope I don't get a black Wii or something (it was a black Wii U).... I mean sure a black Wii looks nice, but it's just not necessary, in my case, and £310... well exactly.

"Hi Sir"!? They didn't really start their email with that, did they? Dear lord... It makes me want to vomit.

And you won't get sent a Wii instead. At least not unless the company you ordered from is a complete shambles.
But aren't you taking a bit of a gamble with pre-ordering the black version? It hasn't been officially confirmed that it will be available at launch yet (it does seem likely, but I'd hold off until official word, myself).
Oh, and one more thing: why did you choose that company, exactly? They only have 3 ratings, they're clearly a new company. Aren't you taking a bit of a risk? Wouldn't you be better off waiting till Amazon themselves have a sales listing for the Wii U (which they surely will once price and date are revealed). Or just ordering from another site? There are several other sites listing it for considerably less (although I don't doubt that both sets of prices will turn out to be equally inaccurate).

I wouldn't open that package, it could be a bomb just waiting to go off. Still, it's strange that apparently you're getting a package of some description for a console that won't be released within the next couple of months.

He won't actually be getting a package. That'll just be a standard automated reply that simply wasn't disabled in time.

Amazon just straight sucks!

They change the policies so my little island could get screw up by shiping prices. Once I tried to buy an item with a $3 price tag and it said $3 more for shipping. I said heck yeah all for just 6 bucks. Once Im in the last step of the check out the shipping price skyrocketed to $50. WTF?

Now I stopped using it since is nearly impossible to pay the shipping prices.
