What are your thoughts on Microsoft/Sony's attempts at mimmicking the Wii remote and motion control? I personally think both Move and Kinect are kinda bad products to be honest, for the opposite reasons. The former has no originality, but apparently works fine for it's purpose, the latter is extremely originally but just doesn't work in the slightest and lets down a decent idea.

Your opinion?

Well, this was going to happen soon anyway, based on how technology is getting more advanced. Besides the fact, the Wii is just a remote you can put wherever you can. Kinect is all around movement with just a censor. The...what's it called....Move or whatever for the PS3 is just trying to be like the Wii and 360.

I believe it's a load of crap and Sony and Microsoft should come up with their own ideas instead of stealing them from Nintendo. I mean the kinect makes people look like idiots. So did the the thing with the camera for the PS2.

I agree with the Kinect thing. Supposing you're a parent and you got your child Kinect and got that game with tigers and whatever, and you saw them acting like a tiger, going "rarr" and "scratching" the air, if they were like 12 or something you'd think they're a bit disturbed (if they were like 5 or so, that'd be normal, because pretending to be a tiger is the kind of thing a 5 year old would probably do, but not a 12 year old... well, except Dev

).

The Xbox Kinect thing seems like a HUGE rip-off of the PS2's Eye Toy Camera, just with upgraded technology.

But, Sony isn't off the hook, they ripped off the Wii remote... Take a quick look at this (if you haven't already):

They don't look EXACTLY alike, and have different buttons in different places, but there are similarities. Like the overall shape. The only real difference that is worth noting is the giant blue ball on the top of the Move controller. Its probably there for motion-sensing purposes, but (just to be stupid/funny) it looks like there's a giant stress ball on the top of the controller for when you get angry because the game is frustrating.

They completley ripped the wii remote! Only a super-clod couldn't see the Diffrence.
Who wants to go up to these sony guys and punch them in the eye?

At least Kinect attempts motion-capture without the remote. Still, it's a tad pathetic that both companies are copying off of Nintendo, just to try to make a few extra bucks. The Wii is the clear winner in the motion-oriented gaming arena, and it's likely to stay that way.

cuz the wii totally didnt rip off the playstation controller with the classic controller pro...

but in all honesty, who cares if they look alike..as long as it works well and does what its suppose to do, and does it well, i dont see why it matters.

It matters when it comes to how much they sell, because none of Nintendo's competitors are likely to ever sell more than a few million of their respective motion control gizmos.

When it comes to PS3 and Xbox, I'd like to play my games with my butt glued to the couch, please.

In case anyone hasn't seen this video...

The dude on the top left corner sits completely still while the game steers itself along the racetrack.

Shut up. I wouldn't pretend to be a tiger. I'd pretend to be you.
