I'm not surprise they did this, I bet that their version of AR is realistic women in bikini dancing on a pole.

Old news brah.

it might be old news, but how many people here saw it before? also, i only just saw their advert for it today, not in the past year.

To be honest, Nintendo did not invent AR technology.
of course not. but who had the idea to put it in a games console first?

Eh, I dunno, that's kinda like Apple saying they invented the "elastic scroll". Heaps of other people have been using AR for games and more impressive applications than just games so I don't really see a big deal with Sony jumping on the bandwagon. Moar competition I guess. Can't just have Nintendo doing all the breakthroughs and the other game consoles sitting around, twiddling their thumbs and not doing something a little bit similar.

i never said they invented it, im saying they had the idea to do it first, sony coulda done something more original.

If it's any consolation, at least Sony improved on it rather than just "stealing" it and making a cheap rip-off, haha.

I just think AR is too big a thing to not expect the major gaming companies to take it on board, that's all.

If it was something like the 3D capability, and Sony did a similar concept, then that would be a bit of another issue as the 3DS is probably the best example of "no-glasses" 3D. But for AR, eh, it's a bigger ball park.
