This has really nothing to do with Nintendo,so you probably might not care.
Here goes...
Ok,many of you probably don't know what Crystal Dynamics is.CD is a gaming company which is the developer for the Tomb Raider series since 2006-present.However,before that,CD was it own gaming company which created and developed long-forgotten franchises such as Legacy of Kain,Gex,Pandemonium, and many more.CD since then have only been making Tomb Raider...just go look at their website.TOMB RAIDER EVERYWHERE.CD has been so lost in making Tomb Raider that they have forgotten about all their old franchises that millions of people out there still love, even though the franchise has not been touched for more than a DECADE.Many people say that Square Enix (owner of CD) is telling them to only keep rehashing Tomb Raider, but my theory is that CD are being heartless fucks and don't really care for the other series (hence how they let Gex become a developer accesible IP).They only seem to care for Tomb Raider and nothing else.Tomb Raider is great, but Lara Croft needs a BREAK.
Also,on a very sad note,CD was never actually ment to be this way.CD was supposed to be it's own boss and it's mascot was not supposed to be Lara Croft, but Gex.

Sadly CD never got to be what it was supposed to,leaving many fans of all it's previous series (especially the Gex fanbase, they seem PRETTY PISSED) sad and angry.

Maybe Crystal Dynamics will see the potential in their 'forgotten series',but I think CD will just continue to ruin the lives of many people. What do you think?Do you agree with us?

Man, the first thing I think about when I hear their name is Gex 2:Enter the Gecko. As a kid that game served me lots of fun filled hours. Though I've always been more of a nintendo guy i've had lots of fun with my Playstation also.

They wouldn't be the first company to outright ditch their old IPs.

Impressive. Glad to know someone else on the site has played Gex and appreciates it.

Well,it was my childhood and many others too. :)
So who is the 'someone else'?

You mean when I said I was glad someone else appreciates the game? Oh I was referring to you since you know of the game from the sounds of it, or am I mistaken? We don't get many people who know of obscure games like that.

I vaguely remember playing Gex on the N64- we'd rented it from the little locally owned video rental place (I also remember renting the Cool Spot video game for the SNES from there :p).. I don't recall liking it much? I had no idea it was by the same people who did Tomb Raider. It's a shame they'd let their IP's die though, especially one like Gex. The whole Collect-a-thon platformer genre has really died since Rare was bought by Microsoft, this could have been an interesting one if it had successfully continued onto the newer systems.

Well Tomb Raider was actually created and originally copyright of Core Design until 2004.Then in 2005 Crystal Dynamics (of everyone) had gotten hold of the series.Since then they have owned it,and CD changed causing hell among all previous CD franchise fans, including me. :/
