Ok, I am a strong christian, but I beleve that THIS is pure bull crap:

http://www.bible.com/bibleanswers_result.php?id=221

If you read this, you may not agree with any of this. This appears to make you limit what you can or cannot do as a chrisitan. (Typical: They don't even use the "é" in Pokémon.)

So now what? Zelda is could demonatic because they worship creatures, and rely on the triforce to save all of Hyrule? Nintendo tries very hard to add censorship to these just so WE won't be offended!

Mario may also demonatic because Mario can shoot fire balls from his hand by eating a flower, or running on water, or a giant fire-breathing spiked turtle we call Bowser?

(Note: The Zelda and Mario were just examples of what this article may also reflect on, they were never mentioned there)

Any thoughts on this? I believe they are over dramatic on this.

That's just people beening stupid, I mean come on people. Pokèmon is meant to be a game for children. You can criticise Pokèmon, you can make fun of Pokèmon but that's just going to far. I grew up playing mostly Pokèmon video games at daycare when I was younger and look at me today, I'm still a nice and good person and I don't see anything wrong with playing Pokèmon or with Pokèmon in general.

*Note: This is only my opinion and is not to be taken to be offensive towards christen/christains or anyone part of any other religion, and doesn't side with any religion. Think you for your understanding and have a nice day.

I wrote an essay for school this past year about how people who say this kind of thing about fantasy literature are missing the point. I'm a strong Christian, and I love Pokemon and fantasy books. What bugs me is that some Christians feel that anything that doesn't somehow worship God is Satanic. The reason I chose to write about fantasy is we had to choose something that we wanted changed in the school policy. If you live in the US, odds are you have never read a fantasy book for an English class, or if you have, it's a timeless classic that doesn't match up with what most fantasy is. This is because there are fanatics out there saying fantasy is devil-worship and people have a cult-following of it or something. It takes all kinds to make a world, but it really bugs me how these people drag the name of Christian through the mud...if liking the concept of magic or Pokemon is enough to send me to eternal torment, then everything I've learned from my church is a lie, and I'm doomed.

I saw a video on some thing like this a few months ago. I found it hilarious. They said, "Pokemon is work of the devil. Look at this demonic creature." They then proceeded to show a picture of Jigglypuff, the least threatening Pokemon in the game.

You make a great point, I mean we should be able to make stories with, and be able to add monsters and creatures without having to worry about the story having a god or something that created the world, I mean its the story writer who decides if the story should have a god or some other mythical creature should be in the story and not what some random christian wants. If we all wrote stories based on what a christian wants all stories/games will be borning and nobody will want to buy or read the story/play the game.

What people will come up with to force beliefs upon others..A game can't just be a game apparently. If Arceus was created in the 90s pokemon would have been banned in the US, lol.

The note was for people who might be easily offended and for people who might be coming from google or yahoo and might get offended, and is only ment to try to keep people from getting the wrong idea.

The maker of the Pokemon U. S. trading cards is the Seattle-based company, Wizards of the Coast, owner of the Dungeons and Dragons game and creator owner of a card game called Magic: The Gathering, which is played by an estimated 6 million people. Many of these preteens and teens are learned in the art of casting spells and summoning spirits.

In these practices they develop relationships with the so-called "good spirits" to fight the bad ones. This is totally against scripture as the only spirit we are to call on is the Holy Spirit to combat evil spirits with His Holy Angels. In essence these guardians or "spirit guides" that are used in Pokemon actually encourage children in the ways of witchcraft.

When I was growing up, we were taught monsters were evil, not something to play with. When I was a little girl, the "boogie man" or monsters caused us fear and we did not want to be around them. This game makes some of its monsters out as friendly; thus causing children to embrace certain evil spirits as friends instead of resisting them. This is not the only game that does this as there are other games and books that trivialize or glamorize the occult as well. One of the most evil book series that children are reading at this hour are the Harry Potter books. These books are just as dangerous as the Pokemon games. The Harry Potter books have become a best selling series that chronicle the tales of an orphaned boy at a school for wizards. These books deal with the occult in a fantasy way. In the books you will find animal sacrifices, threats of human sacrifices, witchcraft, wizardry and divination as well as other evil things.

When it was first released in Japan in 1997, it was reported that over 600 children went into epileptic seizures while watching the Pokemon cartoons. ² The epileptic seizures were said to be caused by the incessant flashing lights in the cartoon overloading the optical nerves and inciting seizure; however, seizures can also be caused by demonic attack.

XD it's so stupid, it's funny. yes, I'm sure playing dungeons and Dragons would be considered witchcraft. LametacohvadewionakazaMAGIC MISSILE!!
How the hell would "Spirits" encourage kids to witchcraft? they go into the kids' minds and force them? Give me a break.
Hard to resist the "Evil Spirits" when the sprit's are animals and usually friendly. And without spells n stuff in Harry Potter, then what's the point of the book? "AVADAKADABRA!" [nothing happens] "DAMNIT! I practiced that spell hundreds of times last night! Y U NO WORK NAO!?"
"EXPECTO PATRONUUUUUUUUUM!! [nothing happens] *Notices the mass amounts of the reaper things who's name I can't remember* FUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUUU-* dead*
And I am fairly sure that Demons will be waiting inside your TV, just waiting for Pokemon to turn on so he can jump out and give little kids seizures, with perfect timing when Pikachu spazes out and lets rip a million thunderbolts with a black background behind it, ultimately killing the "Evil Spirit" with "Witchcraft." After all, he DID learn the spell when he was just a wee Pichu.
and lastly, Religion's like a penis. It's nice to have one, but PLEASE don't shove it down little kids' throats. which is what they are doing.

Ed-and last time I checked the last "Spirit's" that are actually in the game was at that Pokemon cemetery in the first gen. Vermilion I think?
and they missed Cubone wearing it's mother's skull. I know that's breaking SOME kind of rule there.

So Pokémon (Cool, I discovered a new shortcut for typing 'é' in Windows!) is 'demonatic', and since I never read the article due to obvious stupidity, Digimon... Isn't?

I have one thing to say to that.

It's a load of Tauros-dust.

Mario is murder, and no-one cares. But as soon as a game comes out with a creature that created the universe, it's a play on religion and we're all screwed. Just because we play Pokémon doesn't mean we're going to hell. The heck with it, we'll never know if we've been good enough or bad enough to go one way or the other. Yes, I am a Christian myself. But do I take offense to what's been said so far in this topic? No. Because this is lame. If I can't play this then I may as well just drop video games altogether because I'm 'killing' someone. There's a difference between shooting someone in the head in Halo and literally shooting someone in the head in real life.

I say let's just use close combat on whoever said pokemon is demonic
I saw a video on some thing like this a few months ago. I found it hilarious. They said, "Pokemon is work of the devil. Look at this demonic creature." They then proceeded to show a picture of Jigglypuff, the least threatening Pokemon in the game.
You forgot about magikarp (as long as it doesn't evolve otherwise your screwed) and even though it's non threatening it could do many things after it sang you to sleep so that part might be somewhat evil depending on what the jigglypuff does.

When I said "least threatening" I meant by the way it looks. It looks cute and fluffy not evil and deadly.
