According to the Wikipedia page, there's only a PAL and US release date for the system so far.

So when's it getting a Japanese release? Or is this some revision they'll be missing out on for some reason?
 
Maybe they are going to wait and see how it actually sells in theses regions first. Then they might consider releasing it in Japan.
I'm not sure though that's just my guess.

Who can say, other then Nintendo themselves? It may come to Japan, it may never come. I assume they'll judge how well it does here before deciding whether or not to bring it to Japan.
