So, will Yoshi ever get his own actual series?

I read somewhere that Yoshi's Story was meant to be an attempt to distance his universe from Mario's and end up with something like Donkey Kong Country or Wario Land/Ware (hence the icon in Smash Bros games), but do you think we'll ever get an entirely Yoshi only game?

As in, fewer Mario elements, maybe some villain other than Bowser, no Baby Mario and original stuff? Or is Yoshi now forever just a minor spinoff of the main Mario series?

I don't think so. The Mario/Yoshi Universe are practically the same.

Mostly considering the "Yoshi universe" is actually a seperate island IN the Mario-verse, I dunno... :/

I think Yoshi will be just spin-offs. We may (hopefully) get something like Yoshi's Story where it takes place in the Mario universe but very little reference to Mario. I don't think Nintendo will go much further than that far away from the Mario universe, since Yoshi IS a Mario character.

Yoshi originated from Mario.but then again,Mario originated from donkey kong so you never know.However Yoshi's Island is my #2 game and I really want a sequel.Or a Yoshi's Story.I love that game its just too dang short.

1.Luigi's Mansion. He was kidnapped by King Boo and his minions.FAIL
2.Super Princess Peach.Army Hammer Bro succsesfully captured Mario.FAIL
3.Paper Mario.Bowser defeated Mario with the Star Rod.FAIL
4.Super Mario Galaxy.Kamek easily knocked him off of Peach's Castle.FAIL
5.Mario & Luigi:Superstar Saga.After he defeated Cackletta,he just standed there while the Time Bob-omb nearly killed him.

6.Mario & Luigi:Superstar Saga.Mario ate the Invineshroom and got Bean Fever.FAIL
7.Super Paper Mario.Dimentio obliterated mario "sent him to the Underwhere".FAIL
