Some Fanmade Paper Mario 3DS Partners.

Just me doing this outta boredam here. Heh.

Knowing so far there are 3 partners that are already going to be set as Mario's Partners for the upcoming Paper Mario (though not sure if this actually confirmed yet), I decided to use some imagination and make 4 extra fanmade allies for him. Also giving them a brief background story.

Well I present to you...

Starting from top left to bottom right:

Phil - Nicknamed "Phil the Fist". A world class Championship Boxer of the Mushroom Kingdom's arena. A Bullet Bill who wears a boxing glove over his body. Never lost a match once he entered the ring. Calls Mario a wimp when upon meeting. After losing to Mario in a battle, he forgives him and gives him his deepest respect.

Overworld Skills: Mario can ride on Phil's back for faster transport and cross over pits or dangerous landscapes.


Jack - An all time crazy thief who hides in the shadows and steals from citizens for a living. Stashes everything he takes into his backpack. Really, he just does it because he's finds it difficult to live a happy life. Upon meeting Mario, he changes his ways and decides to steal from enemies threatening others instead of from innocent citizens.

Favorite quote he says after stealing from someone: "You just got Jack'd! Ahahahaha! Get it? So long Sucker!"

Overworld Skills - Sense any treasure or hidden object around for Mario.


Martin - A Monty mole that loves to rap and break dance. Uses slang words and loves talking trash to his enemies. Has deep respect for Mario. His Sunglasses is his most pride possession. It helps him into scoring a perfect performance. Once they get stolen, Mario retrieves it back for him.

Overworld Skills - Bury an underground tunnel for Mario to run through. Also protects him from enemy encounters.


Brick - A nerdy and goofy looking Hammer Bro. who worked for Bowser's Army. Always being picked on by other Hammer Bros. because of his appearance and how weak he is compared to them. Never fulfilling his duties. He becomes overjoyed when assigned on a mission to go fight Mario one on one, thinking he'll be of use to the Army finally. After being pummeled by him, Brick realizes his mission was just a trick set up to get himself beaten by Mario and falls into a great depression. Mario then forgives him which brightens him up and leads him into betraying for good against Bowser's Army and his "Friends" for pulling such a serious prank, figuring he was useless to them and joins up with Mario.

Overworld Skills - Toss his hammer and hit / reach far distant objects.


All sprites taken from spriters resource and credited to it's respective rippers.

So Whadda ya guys think?

I think they're pretty neat, nice little stories for all of them. The idea of a Bullet Bill that is shaped like a glove is rather adorable too.

My favourite would probably have to be Jack the Bandit, he just looks so slick.
 
I have trouble naming which one is the best for me. I'd have to say all are equally matched. I'm quite fond Phil really. Being a fist shaped bullet bill and charging towards an enemy is an nice touch you did there. Jack the Bandit is pretty neat as well. Loved how you gave him his own quote referencing to himself. Plus if he can steal during battle, He won't run away! He has a backpack to put his stuff in! Martin i can imagine smack talking against a boss and showing some off some of his moves. As for Brick, I'm a big Hammer Bro. fan and Paper Mario games always has an ally encountered first as an enemy boss and then defecting to the good side afterwards. So yeah Brick could fit the spot if he were a real character.

Super Paper Mario - Luigi (with the being of Mr. L. Luigi fits the archetype)

Yeah I know, that's because the real thing is that Bullet Bill's fist shaped body is actually a resized sprite of Mario's fist. I was too lazy so I left his outline unedited.
Anyway thanks for the feed back guys! Overall my most favorited would be Brick since I started off with him. Plus, I love it when an enemy who works for the Koopa Clan reflects to the good side. For Martin, he was abit of a rush. His sunglasses are the same of what a regular Monty Mole has in paper mario and if they were present in PMTTYD. I was planning on making Pokey but I lacked the idea of what to give him until I finished Martin.
I'm actually starting to like doing this really. I'm gonna post up some fun fan work that I'll be doing in this thread. Heh.
