For some reason tonight when I went to back up my files, the windows backup wouldn't work, I click on it but nothing happen.

Currently it keeps wanting to run updates but it never does.

Now I just used waterfox and it kept saying all the sites HTTPS certificates were broken and blocked access. I had to go into about:config to bypass the https checking.

I've ran every scan I have, but nothing comes up besides adware.

*Sigh* looks like I may need to do a system os reinstall tomorrow, fun... [/sarcasm]

I think the coin sized watch CMOS battery on your motherboard is dead. The time maybe set to the wrong date and time in the CMOS/motherboard.

I knew someone who had computer problems because the motherboard battery was dead, and needed to replace.

HTTPS certificates, Windows Update, Backup schedules, and Task Scheduler need your system time in your motherboard to be set to the correct date and time.

The CMOS clock on your motherboard maybe dead or broken.

I thought the same, but only one of my browsers is affected and I just went in and changed the root in about:config in waterfox and it fixed the issue.

Like I said, only the one browser was affected, not sure why.

Have you tried using the web browser on a different computer, or ask a friend or family member to test out the web browser on their computer to see if they also have the same problem.

Doing a Windows system restore to an earlier date before your HTTPS errors were happening may fix your problem.

Installing an older version of Waterfox may fix your problem if your current version of Waterfox is having a software or hardware compatibility problem with your PC.

Maybe it is time to reinstall Windows.

scratch that, it happened to my other PC, so something is up with the software, despite no updates to it.

Also I want to reinstall W10, but my laptop is really strange because it didn't detect my SSD and yet still installed a OS to it. It's odd.

It maybe a problem with the HTTPS certificate publisher/owner, and Waterfox not updating Waterfox or working with the HTTPS certificate owners to fix this problem.

That is weird that your laptop does not detect your SSD, but can install Windows.

I think its something up with the BIOs, I should run a update on it.

A BIOS update may help. But, BIOS updates can always make things worse if the BIOS update contains software and hardware compatibility problems which make your PC have more problems or the BIOS update fails, and breaks your motherboard.

nothing is ever simple huh?

BIOS updates do not always simply fix problems, and can break a working motherboard. It is a good idea to ask other users of your brand of laptop and SSD and your laptop motherboard and SSD maker if a BIOS update is recommended, and will fix your problem . I read online that Intel Meldown and Spectre security patches on Motherboard BIOS and UEFI updates were causing computers to randomly restart according to Intel says you should NOT install its Meltdown firmware fixes

Intel Spectre and Meltdown patches which got added to newer BIOS/UEFI Motherboard firmware may cause problems for your motherboard if the motherboard maker did not fully test the firmware before releasing it.

I think it is good that most PC still let you choose if you want to upgrade your BIOS or not to update since updates can make things worse, or fail if there is a random restart or power outage during updating a BIOS which may break your computer until you replace the BIOS chip.

Check your account administrative privileges, you can try logging first as an administrator if you have multiple accounts on your PC. Lastly you can try disabling automatic updates so that you have more control on your device this way you can do a third party backup. Be sure to have a restore point.

Only one account, but good idea on disabling updates.
