Sonic x Shadow Generations Announced for This Fall - State of Play 2024 - IGN

Sega officially announced Sonic x Shadow Generations, a remaster featuring Sonic's edgiest friend, during today's PlayStation State of Play.

We got a brief glimpse at Sonic and Shadow zooming through some levels, but little information otherwise. We do, however, know that it's slated for "Autumn 2024."

This is Sonic's latest outing in 3D following the release of the Apple Arcade exclusive Sonic Dream Team and 2022's Sonic Frontiers.

"Superb level design and bite-sized missions make Sonic Dream Team one of the most fun, creative, and enjoyable 3D platformers I've played in a long time," my colleague Chris Reed wrote in his review of Sonic Dream Team.

Beyond a new Sonic game in development, the blue hedgehog is also making its way onto the big screens again, with Sonic the Hedgehog 3 from Paramount Pictures set to release on December 20, 2024. The third film is also set to introduce Shadow the Hedgehog.
 
My Discord friends laughed at how this title sounds like the average Sonic fandom ship. I would like Silver in the game, but I expect it as he feels like he trio with those two on a whim. 3D just makes me think they will try the Gamecube and Wii Era titles. Hopefully no repeats from the first Generations.

Never played, but this one looks real good! Miss that platformer type
